These instances only happen inside large, loosely organized, and immature 'gangs'. Affiliating with these delinquent groups or "gangs" means a much higher possibility for a butt-hurt member who can't get any candy to report the insider threat, and a higher likelihood for threat researchers, LE, and the companies themselves to infiltrate the group and shut down and terminate the insider.
These groups also bring you a much higher risk of extortion, they will use the data you gave them as evidence that can lead to an arrest or termination, this forces you to give them more and more data even if you want out.
